Aleš Michl has been officially confirmed as a speaker at Bitcoin 2026, where he will deliver a keynote titled “Diversifying Central Bank Reserves With Bitcoin” on April 28 at 10:20 AM PT on the Nakamoto Stage at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Michl serves as Governor of the Czech National Bank (CNB) — and his presence at the event marks a significant moment as he becomes the first central bank governor to speak at The Bitcoin Conference.

In January 2025, Michl proposed allocating up to 5% of the CNB’s €140 billion reserves into Bitcoin, citing its low correlation with traditional assets like bonds as a key factor making it an attractive diversification option. The proposal drew international attention and pushback. The proposal drew international attention that saw pushback from central bank elites. Like from the European Central Bank’s President, Christine Lagarde, who publicly said she was confident Bitcoin would not ever enter the reserves of any EU central banks. Even though the Czech Republic does not use the euro, Michl has shown little sign of being moved by the criticism.

In November 2025, the CNB made its first-ever digital asset purchase — a $1 million test portfolio that included Bitcoin, a U.S. dollar-based stablecoin, and a tokenized deposit, built inside the CNB Lab to test the operational realities of holding blockchain-based instruments from the central bank’s perspective. Michl framed it as an exercise in preparedness rather than speculation. “The aim was to test decentralised bitcoin from the central bank’s perspective and to evaluate its potential role in diversifying our reserves,” he said. “We’ll inform the public about our experience on an ongoing basis and present an assessment in two to three years.”

Paolo Ardoino has been officially confirmed as a speaker at Bitcoin 2026. As CEO of Tether (the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin) and CTO of Bitfinex, Ardoino sits at the center of two of the most influential companies in the Bitcoin ecosystem and arrives in Las Vegas with one of the most expansive views of where Bitcoin is headed.

Ardoino graduated from the University of Genoa’s Computer Science program in 2008 and began his career as a researcher on a military project focused on high-availability, self-recovering networks and cryptography. He joined Bitfinex as a senior software developer in 2014 and became CTO in 2016. In 2017, he also became CTO of Tether. He was named CEO of Tether in December 2023. Following the passage of the GENIUS Act, Ardoino was a guest at the White House to witness the signing of the landmark stablecoin legislation into law.

Under his leadership, Tether has grown well beyond its origins as a stablecoin issuer. At the 2025 Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegas, Ardoino announced that Tether holds more than 100,000 Bitcoin as a company, alongside more than 50 tons of gold. Tether has also launched an open-source Bitcoin mining operating system, built on a self-hosted peer-to-peer architecture, designed to scale from small home installations to industrial-grade deployments managing hundreds of thousands of machines. Tether is also a majority backer of Twenty One Capital (NYSE: XXI), the Bitcoin-native public company led by Jack Mallers, also a confirmed Bitcoin 2026 speaker.

Ardoino has led Tether to invest in renewable energy and sustainable Bitcoin mining in Uruguay, and the company has expanded into AI infrastructure, telecommunications, and peer-to-peer communications platforms. A new panel has officially been announced to take place at Bitcoin 2026 titled “How Real Is The Quantum Threat?” The conversation will bring together five voices at the center of one of the most actively debated technical questions in Bitcoin today, and the lineup reflects the full range of perspectives the topic demands.

The panel features:

Hunter Beast, a senior protocol engineer for the Anduro sidechain platform incubated by MARA, is the co-author of BIP 360, a proposal that establishes a new Bitcoin wallet address type designed to protect the network from quantum computing threats. BIP 360 was merged into the Bitcoin Core BIP repository in February 2026 and was deployed on the Bitcoin Quantum Testnet v0.3.0 in March, marking significant advancements towards upgrading Bitcoin.

James O’Beirne has been a Bitcoin Core contributor since 2015 and leads multiple projects including OP_VAULT (BIP-345) and assumeutxo, having previously worked at Chaincode Labs.

Brandon Black is a Bitcoin software engineer who has spoken publicly on why quantum computing timelines are often misunderstood by the broader market.

Charles Edwards of Capriole has argued that quantum computing is advancing faster than anticipated and has advocated for a 2026 BIP-360 implementation.

Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy Digital, has taken a more measured position arguing the quantum threat to Bitcoin is real but limited today, affecting only certain exposed wallets, and that developers are actively building pathways to address it over time.

The panel will cover one of the most actively discussed technical topics in Bitcoin today — how quantum computing is developing, where Bitcoin’s cryptography stands, and what the path to long-term protocol resilience looks like. Afroman has been officially confirmed as a speaker at Bitcoin 2026. Born Joseph Foreman, the Grammy-nominated rapper best known for his 2001 hit “Because I Got High” arrives in Las Vegas this April not just as an artist, but as someone who spent three years in court defending his right to say what happened to him.

In August 2022, law enforcement officers from the Adams County, Ohio Sheriff’s Office raided his home on suspicion of drug trafficking and kidnapping. Nothing illegal was found, and no charges were filed. Afroman did what artists do and he made music about it. Using his own home surveillance footage, he released a series of videos documenting the raid, the most viral of which, “Lemon Pound Cake,” was named after a moment in the footage in which an officer appeared to do a double take at a cake sitting on his kitchen island. Seven of the officers sued him in 2023 for defamation and invasion of privacy, collectively seeking nearly $4 million in damages.

On March 18, 2026, just a month before Bitcoin 2026, a jury ruled in Afroman’s favor on every count after a three-day trial in Adams County Common Pleas Court. Throughout the proceedings, Afroman defended his work on First Amendment grounds, arguing he had the right to use the footage to cover damages from the raid, including a broken gate and front door. Walking out of the courthouse, he told reporters: “I didn’t win, America won. America still has freedom of speech. It’s still for the people, by the people.”

His presence at Bitcoin 2026 extends beyond the stage. The American flag suit he wore throughout his legal battle will be on display in the Bitcoin Conference Art Gallery as part of Relics of a Revolution, an exhibition exploring protest art and asymmetric responses to institutional power throughout Bitcoin’s short history, with the suit up for auction through Scarce.city. Simon Gerovich has been officially confirmed as a speaker at Bitcoin 2026. As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed Metaplanet, he has helped transform the once struggling hospitality company into one of the largest corporate Bitcoin holders in the world. Now, Gerovich arrives in Las Vegas as one of the most closely watched figures in institutional Bitcoin adoption outside of the United States.

Metaplanet closed 2025 with 35,102 BTC, making it the fourth-largest public corporate Bitcoin holder globally. The company has outlined aggressive accumulation targets, aiming to reach 100,000 BTC by the end of 2026 and 210,000 BTC — approximately 1% of Bitcoin’s total supply — by the end of 2027. To fund that ambition, Metaplanet recently secured approximately $255 million from global institutional investors through a placement of new shares, with additional fixed-strike warrants that could lift total funding to roughly $531 million. The company is also expanding beyond treasury accumulation: Metaplanet’s board approved the creation of two subsidiaries — Metaplanet Ventures and Metaplanet Asset Management — targeting companies building Bitcoin financial infrastructure in Japan, including platforms focused on lending, payments, custody, derivatives, and compliance tools.

Gerovich began the company’s EGM in September 2025 by explaining how Metaplanet pivoted from operating as a struggling hotel company to a Bitcoin treasury company in early 2024. The turnaround has been significant. Revenue jumped 738% year-over-year to 8.91 billion yen, with operating profit surging 1,695%, driven primarily by premiums from Bitcoin option transactions, which accounted for about 95% of total revenue. Gerovich has consistently pointed to Bitcoin per share — the company’s primary KPI — rather than net profit as the appropriate metric for evaluating Metaplanet’s performance, noting that Bitcoin per share increased by more than 500% in 2025.

With Metaplanet’s accumulation targets for 2026 still in motion and its expansion into ventures and asset management underway, Gerovich takes the Bitcoin 2026 stage at a pivotal moment for the company and for corporate Bitcoin adoption in Asia.

U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis has been officially confirmed as a speaker at Bitcoin 2026. A Republican senator from Wyoming, Lummis currently serves as Chair of the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Digital Assets — a role she was appointed to in January 2025 to lead the Banking Committee’s efforts on digital asset legislation. She has publicly held Bitcoin since 2013 and has spent her Senate tenure focused on establishing a regulatory and legislative framework for digital assets in the United States.

Her primary legislative effort has been the BITCOIN Act, formally titled the Boosting Innovation, Technology, and Competitiveness through Optimized Investment Nationwide Act, which she introduced in the U.S. Senate as Chair of the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Digital Assets. The bill authorizes the U.S. Treasury to acquire up to one million Bitcoin over a five-year period to stock a strategic reserve, with a mandatory 20-year holding period, and includes a proof of reserves requirement for quarterly public reporting on total holdings. Alongside the BITCOIN Act, Lummis was a co-sponsor of the 2025 GENIUS Act to regulate stablecoins and introduced legislation for a tax exemption on small Bitcoin transactions. More recently, she predicted the crypto market structure bill should advance out of the Senate Banking Committee by late April 2026, stating the talks have reached necessary compromises to move the legislation forward.

Lummis announced in December 2025 that she will not seek reelection in 2026. Her appearance at Bitcoin 2026 comes during the final stretch of her Senate term, with several pieces of legislation she has championed still working through Congress. As recently as February 2026, Lummis pressed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on digital asset taxation, including a potential de minimis exemption for small transactions, with Bessent offering to have Treasury’s Office of Tax Policy work with her team on guidance.

With her Senate chapter drawing to a close, Bitcoin 2026 offers a meaningful stage for Lummis to address the community that has watched her carry the Bitcoin policy torch in Washington for years. Adam Back has been officially confirmed as a speaker at Bitcoin 2026, returning to the conference as one of the few people in the world whose contributions to Bitcoin predate Bitcoin itself. As Co-Founder and CEO of Blockstream and CEO of Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company (BSTR), Back comes to Las Vegas operating at the intersection of Bitcoin infrastructure and capital markets like never before.

In 1997, Back invented Hashcash — a proof-of-work system originally built to combat email spam that became the direct technical foundation for Bitcoin’s mining process. Satoshi Nakamoto cited Back by name in the Bitcoin white paper, writing that the network would need “a proof-of-work system similar to Adam Back’s Hashcash.” Before the genesis block was ever mined, Satoshi emailed Back directly.

Blockstream, which Back co-founded in 2014, develops Bitcoin infrastructure across three areas: consumer self-custody tools including the open-source Jade hardware wallet, enterprise settlement and asset issuance on the Liquid Network, and institutional products through Blockstream Asset Management — with with Liquid Network closing 2025 with close to $5 billion in TVL. At Bitcoin 2025, Back framed the company’s direction: “We’re laser-focused on Bitcoin. At Blockstream, we are here to provide the infrastructure to enable that.”

On the capital markets side, Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company has entered into a definitive agreement to go public through a merger with Cantor Equity Partners I (CEPO), structured with 30,021 BTC on its balance sheet and up to $1.5 billion in PIPE financing — the largest ever announced alongside a Bitcoin treasury SPAC merger. As of March 2026, BSTR is awaiting completion of the de-SPAC process, with shareholder approval targeted as early as April, after which the combined company is expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker “BSTR.”

From inventing the proof-of-work system that makes Bitcoin possible, to building the infrastructure layer on top of it, to now bringing over 30,000 BTC to public markets — Back’s is unlike anyone else on the Bitcoin 2026 stage.
